Literary Heroine Blog Party Questionnaire!

Kellie Falconer's Literary Heroine Blog Party Questions!

       ~The Questions~

1. Introduce yourself! Divulge your life's vision, likes, dislikes, aspirations, or something completely random!
I'm a senior in high school living in the great state of Texas. I love sewing and cake decorating almost anything crafty. Sewing is my main passion and I love sewing period clothing! I also play the piano and am in the middle of auditions for colleges. I love all things elegant, vintage, and feminine.

2. What, to you, forms the essence of a true heroine?
Selflessness. A true heroine is always willing to put others needs before her's and gives with a cheerful heart and a sweet smile. She was wit and a strong head. She knows that she has faults and overcomes them, not getting too discouraged when she fails always depending on her Lord and Saviour.

3. Share (up to) four heroines of literature that you most admire and relate to.
 Elinor Dashwood

Anne Elliott

Esther Summerson

4.Five of your favorite historical novels?
Pride and Prejudice
Regina Silsby's Secret War
Regina Silsby's Phantom Militia
Anne of Green Gables
Traces of Mercy
Finding Mercy

5. Out of those five books who is your favorite major character and why?
Elizabeth Bennet.
Elizabeth Bennet is so undyingly favouritable. Who hasn't loved her and wanted to be right beside her. Yes she has her faults we all do don't we. Her admirable qualities are numerous—she is lovely, clever, and, in a novel defined by dialogue, she converses as brilliantly as anyone. Her honesty, virtue, and lively wit enable her to rise above the nonsense and bad behavior that pervade her class-bound and often spiteful society.

6. Out of those five books who is your favorite secondary character and why?
Anne Shirley
Anne is stubborn, passionate, loyal, and intelligent. She is a great inspiration for realizing your dreams.
She loves beauty and fantasy, and always wanted to be a good person. She is a kindred spirit!!

7. If you were to plan out your dream vacation, where would you travel to - and what would you plan to do there?
This is a hard one. I have several places I would love to go to. I would love love love to go to England and visit all the film locations where Pride and Prejudice(1995) was filmed and my dream there is to go to the Jane Austen Festival. I also would like to visit New Zealand or Australia and some historical sites here in the U.S.

Civil War and Regency England

Most likely perform classical pieces on the piano.

10. If you were to attend a party where each guest was to portray a heroine of literature, who would you select to represent?
This is a hard chose.......I probably would say Elinor Dashwood. Out of all of Jane Austen's characters I think I relate to her the most.

11. Favorite author(s)?
Jane Austen
L.M.Montgomery
J.R.R.Tolkien
Jeanette Oke
Martha Finley
And various other authors.

12.  In which century were most of the books you read written?
19th Century

13. In your opinion, the ultimate hero in all literature is…
Mr. Knightley!! He may be just seem like another guy next door living in the large Donwell Abbey Estate. He is unfailingly honest but tempers his honesty with tact and kindheartedness. Almost always, we can depend upon him to provide the correct evaluation of the other characters’ behavior and personal worth. He intuitively understands and kindly makes allowances for Mr. Woodhouse’s whims; he is sympathetic and protective of the women in the community, including Jane, Harriet, and Miss Bates; and, most of all, even though he frequently disapproves of her behavior, he dotes on Emma.

14. In your opinion, the most dastardly villain of all literature is...
I don't know..........I know he is not a villain but does Mr. Collins count because he really sends chills down my back.

15. Describe your ideal dwelling place.

16. Sum up your fashion style in a short sentence.
Feminine and comfortable with modern and vintage twists.

Exploring the beautiful outdoors with friends or letting the breeze blow in as I dutifully sew.

19. Create a verbal sketch of your dream hat - in such a way as will best portray your true character.
A wide brim straw hat decked with a wide pink ribbon bow and large cream flowers.

Well this is my senior year in high school so I have been busy with school. I have also have been doing a lot of stuff with college consideration. I have decided to audition to several colleges for majoring in piano pedagogy.

21. Share the Bible passage(s) that have been most inspiring to you recently.
Hebrews 9:27-28  And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,  so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

    2. Mr. Knightly is indeed an admirable hero! The 2009 is my favorite "Emma" as well, that Knightly is just so perfect!
Also, I would definitely agree that Mr. Collins is chill worthy enough to put under villain!
(On an unrelated note, your etsy shop is lovely! That civil war ballgown is stunning - very Gone With The Wind.)
